Biscuits With Sesame Seeds - North Africa
INGREDIENTS:
200g butter, melted
175g icing sugar
1 sachet vanilla sugar (20g)
1 sachet (7g) yeast powder
200g sesame seeds
70ml water
1 tbsp butter
70g pistachio, finely chopped
1 Mix flour, butter, icing sugar, vanilla sugar and yeast in a bowl. Pour water in it and stir to make dough.
2 Add half of sesame seeds. Knead well. Divide into small balls and make little flat cakes.
3 Preheat the oven 180C and butter the ovenproof baking dish.
4 Mix rest of the sesame seeds and chopped pistachios together. Coat the flat cakes in this mixture and place them on baking dish.
5 Bake for 10 minutes or until crispy.
6 Serve warm or cold with honey dip.
These biscuits goes very well with peppermint tea, fresh fruits or glass of chilled Rosé.
