Vareniky - Ukraine
INGREDIENTS:
2 kg potatoes
1 kg flour
1 cup warm milk
1 egg
2 boxes cottage cheese
3 onions, chopped
sour cream
salt
1 Make a dough from flour, egg and warm milk ( add milk slowly)
2 Cook potatoes, mash them and mix with cottage cheese and salt.
3 Roll out the dough and use glass to cut small circles.
4 Use spoon to place filling from potatoes on each of the circle then fold in half and press the edges with fork.
5 Cook in salt water until they are on top of the water then cook for another 2 minutes.
6 Serve with fried onions and sour cream
